THE MOST EFFECTIVE METHODS OF ENGLISH LEARNING IN UNIVERSITY

The main direction of development of modern humanitarian education of Ukraine is to increase the level of national education to the European one. That is, entry into the pan-European educational space. One of the priority areas of education reform identified by the State National Program «Education. Ukraine of the 21st century» is the need «to reach a new level in foreign language learning». Unlike other subjects, foreign language is a whole field of knowledge because it reveals to the person the treasure trove of foreign language culture, new lifestyles. Integration of Ukraine into the world community requires perfect command of foreign languages.

Modern communication methodology offers a wide introduction to the educational process of active non-standard methods and forms of work for better conscious assimilation of the material. In practice, the following forms of work have proved to be quite effective: individual and team work. Therefore, all exercises and tasks must be communicatively justified by information gaps, choices and feedback. To complete them, students will need additional information, make some effort to master it, and thus be able to better and more effectively organize their activities.

The most effective forms of pair and group work are the following: inside or outside circles; brain storm; jigsaw reading; think-pair-share; pair interviews and more.

One of the technologies that provide personalized learning is the project method as a way of developing creativity, cognitive activity, independence. Projects can be divided into monoprojects, collective, oral, species, written and Internet projects. Working on a project is a multi-level approach to learning English, covering reading, listening, speaking and grammar. It promotes the students' active self-thinking and guides them to collaborative research. Project teaching is relevant in that it teaches students collaboration, nurtures ethical values such as mutual assistance and empathy, generates creative skills and activates students. The project can have research, search, creative, predictive, analytical and game character.

An important tool for innovative learning is also the use of a multimedia complex (MC) as part of interactive whiteboard, personal computer and multimedia projector. This complex combines all the benefits of modern computer technology and takes the learning process to a whole new level. Using an interactive whiteboard significantly increases the effectiveness of student learning. The following key areas of application of the MC should be identified: presentations, demonstrations and modeling of situations; increase of students’ activity in classes; increase in pace of employment.

The use of MC in English classes allows you to actively involve students in the educational process, increases the motivation of learning, stimulates creative activity and promotes personality development, enhances the ability to provide educational information, it is the most effective and economical in time, helps students to prepare for passing the tests. MC is a powerful tool that can be adapted for use in learning English with a wide range of topics. Achieving this goal implies the fulfillment of a number of tasks: to determine the ways of higher education development in the context of European integration; to cover the essence of «innovation» in higher education; Describe the most effective innovative methods and techniques of teaching English.

The most appropriate for learning English is the classification of methods by the way teachers and students interact in class. There are different ways of such interaction:

1. The teacher teaches language material - students listen (story, explanation).

2. Students and teachers exchange views on the subjects studied in the English lessons, so they reach the necessary conclusions, generalizations, formulate definitions.

 3. The teacher organizes students' observations of the facts being learned and the phenomena of the language, followed by a collective discussion of its results.

4. Students, under the guidance of the teacher, learn the language of the textbook.

5. Students acquire the necessary knowledge by completing practical tasks and exercises. There are appropriate methods of language teaching in high school.

Successfully selected examples from literature, feature films, and personal experiences of the teacher are important for creating an emotional situation in the classroom. The brightness of the story, the emotional evaluation of the teacher, arouses the interest of students, both in individual issues of the topic and the material in general.

There are many methods in this group, the best of which are:

The method of creating a situation of novelty of educational material. It involves defining new knowledge in the teaching process, creating an atmosphere of moral satisfaction from intellectual work. A sense of enrichment in knowledge drives students to self-improvement.

Method of educational games. Promotes the creation of an emotionally elevated atmosphere, the assimilation of material through the emotionally saturated form of its reproduction. Cognitive games simulate life situations, relationships of people, interaction of things, phenomena. The developing effect is achieved through improvisation, a natural expression of the students' free creative forces. Educationally, the game helps students overcome uncertainty, promotes self-affirmation, the fullest expression of their strengths and opportunities. The most interesting interactive games:

1. Grabaminute is a game in which a student is given 1 minute to represent a term written on an interactive map. The participant should provide the most information about the subject, term, meaning, use. Winning is the student who provided the most complete and relevant information about the subject specified on the card. A vocabulary on a specific topic, combined with grammar. A good way to secure the past material. Improves the skills of rapid response, critical thinking.

2. Anitemdescription - A game where you want to describe the word or phrases listed on the interactive cards without naming the root of the word and not using gestures. The rest of the group, which has to guess the word, plays an active role. A vocabulary on a specific topic, combined with grammar. Can be used as Warm up activity. Improves rapid response skills, activates the search for synonyms in English.

3. Chainstory is a game of logic, a manifestation of fantasy and personality. The essence of the game is to continue the history of the previous student. A vocabulary on a specific topic and a common vocabulary combined with grammar. Improves the skills of quick response, logical thinking, increased attention, focusing less on the story of the story, which helps to develop memory.

4. Brainstorm. It is a method of organizing group and teamwork in an audience to increase the mental activity of participants and find fruitful ideas, constructive solutions, solutions to difficult problems or unusual situations. It is advisable to apply it at the outset of a problem, or if the process is deadlocked. The purpose of this game is to provide ideas for an extraordinary solution to a particular problem. The list of necessary elements of brainstorming: 1. You need to come up with as many ideas as possible and put into practice. 2. All the ideas expressed are recorded, even at first glance, meaningless. 3. Absence of any criticism. 4. All participants have the same right to express their opinions. Interesting extracurricular interactive activities include English language excursions and video reportage. The distribution of roles among students, the approval of the itinerary, the student's independent search for information and the approval of its teacher, who acts as an expert.

The main problem with engaging interactive games is the fact that the student often does not have his own opinion, and if he has, he is afraid to express it openly, to the whole audience. In the process of communication students learn: to communicate with different people, to express alternative thoughts, to make informed decisions, to participate in discussions. From the above examples, we can see that there are many forms of interactive lessons. The biggest mistake of the teacher is to use one teaching method or to choose one form of interactive task. Keep in mind that channels of perception are not one-sided, so different forms should be involved.

Analyzing the aforementioned material, we can conclude that the use of interactive forms and methods in the implementation of a person-centered approach and teaching English can practically increase the number of conversational practice in the classroom, are interesting to students, help to learn the material and use it in further classes and various development functions. Thus, the teacher becomes a mentor of independent educational, cognitive and creative activities of students. With many advantages, you should also remember the disadvantages: with frequent use of the perception of interactive games becomes mechanical, loses creative interest, so you need to diversify games and combine interactive teaching methods with traditional ones. It should be added that working in this direction is quite effective in teaching English students. However, no matter what methods are used, it is important, as the researchers point out, to create such psychological and pedagogical conditions in order to increase the effectiveness of higher education teaching, when the student can take active personal position and fully manifest himself as a subject of educational activity.
